Engineering and Evaluating Cloud-Enabled Big Data Solutions for Mission Critical Systems.

Make significant contributions to the state of the art in designing and evaluating large scale mission systems using advanced cloud/IoT/Edge Computing technologies for cyber security data analytics and security protection systems.

Work in close collaboration with our research partners from industry and government sectors and other research providers to develop the next generation of methods and tools for supporting engineering of big data security analytical systems.

You will be working in a team that is highly knowledgeable in skills in machine learning and deep learning for devising and implementing advanced systems engineering approaches/ techniques/tools for leveraging cloud/IoT/Edge computing technologies for large scale data storage and analytics systems. You will be expected to carry out research and development activities that will have significant impact on our industry collaborators’ abilities to design, evaluate, deploy, and operate highly complex software systems aimed at supporting mission critical operations. This includes several opportunities to engage and collaborate with our international collaborators in Europe and USA.

To be successful you will need:

  1. PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related area (or thesis submitted).
  2. Demonstrated ability in conducting and publishing high quality research on one or more of the topics related to Cloud Computing, Big Data, IoT, Edge Computing, Fragmented Cloud Computing, Secure Software Services, Security Data Analytical Services, Adaptive Systems for Security.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Quantitative methods for designing and conducting experimental research to evaluate systems and architectures for/with Big Data Platforms, Cloud/IoT technologies, Applied Artificial Intelligence (i.e., ML and DL).
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience or willingness to gain knowledge of key domains like Digital Health Care, Smart Utilities, Defence Systems, and Autonomous Transportation.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in one or more programming technologies fro software design and implementation for building and evaluating prototypes and/or automation tools.
